North Bay Association of REALTORS® is a non-profit, volunteer based organization. We rely on REALTOR® involvement to help protect the business of selling real estate. Become involved by donating to the REALTOR® Action Fund or volunteer for one of the public advocacy committees.
REALTOR® Action Fund
One of the most important services organized real estate provides is representation in the halls of government. REALTOR® Action Fund (RAF) raises money to advance the goals of our REALTOR® political action committees (PACs) at the local, state, and federal levels of government. RAF supports and/or opposes candidates for elected office who understand, or don’t understand, REALTOR® Issues.

If you have any questions or are in need of assistance in making your RAF contribution, please contact Lisa Edwards at (916) 492-5211 | email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
LCRC is the Local Candidate Recommendation Committee. It is comprised of individuals representing each of the 10 North Bay Association of REALTORS® Chapters. There is also an At Large Member. Trustees serve two year terms representing their individual Chapter. LCRC Trustees review, interview and make political contributions to candidates for local office. Further, LCRC Trustees provide information and input to the California Association of REALTORS® regarding state and federal candidates. Monies for this Committee are received from Political Survival Contributions. LCRC Trustees meet on an as needed basis and are appointed by the NorBar Board of Directors.
Local Governmental Relations Committee. There are active Local Governmental Relations Committees in Napa and Sonoma Counties. Currently, we are looking for interested REALTORS® to form similar committees in Mendocino and Lake Counties. Any NorBar member can participate and join these committees. LGRC makes recommendations on local issues and policies that impact REALTORS®. The Committee often has guests and reviews issues in depth at meetings. This group also receives updates between meetings on events and issues occurring in their area.
Emerging Leader Program
Every year, REALTORS® throughout California embark on Sacramento to meet with their State Representatives to discuss issues that pertain to the real estate industry. During this time, NorBAR invites up to six politically interested REALTORS® to participate in June C.A.R. meetings to observe the wide range of issues and leadership opportunities available through participating in organized real estate. Emerging Leaders attend C.A.R. Legislative Day, spend the night in Sacramento and shadow a current C.A.R. Director. NorBAR (using local IMPAC funds) reimburses participants for expenses associated with attending the event.
